Dr. Jack Smothers, Associate Professor of Management and Master of Business Administration Director, was recently a guest on the Emerald Publishing podcast series to talk about his article, Social enterprise in Antebellum America; the case of Nashoba (1824-1829)聽with co-author Patrick Murphy.聽
Smothers and Murphy discussed how their article examines Nashoba, a unique case of the social enterprise created with the scope of addressing the issue of slavery by buying slaves' freedom by employing them and giving them education and training.聽
