You are invited to participate virtually in the fifth annual Celebration of Teaching & Learning Symposium, sponsored by the 澳门六合彩开奖现场直播. The Symposium includes works focusing on improving student learning, academic success, and curriculum in higher education. It provides opportunities to present and hear about teaching and learning efforts framed as teaching practice or the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL).听听Presentations that focus on adaptions and issues related to teaching and learning during the COVID-19 pandemic are also welcomed.

The program includes a variety of presentation and session formats to provide you with opportunities for learning, sharing, and interacting with participants: a keynote interactive presentation, a student panel session, SoTL presentations, teaching practice interactive sessions, poster presentations, and networking breaks.


Keynote Session:听Balancing Flexibility and Rigor to Support Student Success
Presented by Carie Cardamone and Heather Dwyer, Tufts University

Description: As the pandemic continues, instructors strive to incorporate flexibility in their courses while preserving academic rigor. In this session, we will explore the concept of rigor and its relationship to inclusive, flexible teaching. Using Universal Design for Learning as a framework, we will discuss proactive strategies for maintaining high course standards while reaching all students. Instructors adopting Universal Design models have seen their results increase student retention and engagement.

Carie Cardamone,听Associate Director, Tufts University Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching

Carie Cardamone,听Associate Director, Tufts University Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching, brings her passion to make science education both inclusive and exciting to her work supporting faculty. Dr Cardamone draws on her experience as an education researcher in exploring the ways that assessments can be used to support student learning and advance equity in the curriculum. She earned her PhD in Astronomy at Yale University.

Heather Dwyer, Assistant Director at Tufts University鈥檚 Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching

Heather Dwyer is currently Assistant Director at Tufts University鈥檚 Center for the Enhancement of Learning and Teaching. Dr. Dwyer鈥檚 professional interests include evidence-based teaching, inclusive teaching, and measuring the impact of CTL efforts. Her article 鈥淎 Mandatory Diversity Workshop for Faculty: Does it Work?鈥 was published in 2020. She earned her doctorate in Ecology at the University of California, Davis.

. We kindly request registration by February 23 (free registration). Pre-registered participants may choose to enter the听drawing for "door" prizes.
Health Professional Continuing Education (CE) credits may be earned by participating in the Symposium.

  • All proposals are evaluated using a double-blind peer-review process.
